2)         Holidays:

Provides grants for holidays and leisure activities.  Write with details for consideration.

3)         Money Matters:

The Family Fund Trust is an independent organisation whose purpose is to ease the stress of families who care for severely disabled children under 16, by providing grants and information related to the care of the child.

The Trust is funded by the national governments in England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.  Each family’s financial situation will be taken into consideration before any grant is made.  Currently grants will not be made to families whose gross income exceeds £21,000 and whose savings exceed £8,000, unless there are exceptional circumstances that have artificially inflated your income or savings.  The type of help available is for modest needs related to the special care of a child that fall outside the responsibility of a statutory organisation.  Some examples of help are:

Laundry equipment, if the disability creates extra washing

Family holidays in this country or outings to relieve stress

Bedding and Clothing, if the child’s disability causes extra wear and tear

Driving lessons if the parent, who is the main carer of the child, has a car available

Also willing to consider helping in other ways which relate to the care of the child

How to apply:  Applications should give your child’s full name, address, date of birth, brief details of his/her disability and the kind of help you need.  Applications are considered at any time.  If, when they receive a new application, it seems likely  that they could help, they will ask one of their Family Fund Visitors to contact you to arrange a convenient time to disscuss the application and meet your child.
