Eastleigh Playscheme (For Children with Learning Disabilities and Special Needs)

The playscheme provides activities for a period of 3 weeks in the Summer, 2 weeks at Easter and 3 days at Christmas. (Activities include art, craft, music, outings etc).

New Forest Mencap

Offers Saturday Gateway Clubs 1 for children aged 3-13, Saturday Gateway Club 2 (16+). New Forest Mencap also offers a Welfare Section and information for people with learning disabilities. Requests to society are dealt with in complete confidence.

Summer holiday playschemes for children with special needs (mainly learning disabilities). Area, age and disability criteria varies - please contact us for further information. Eligibility Criteria: Children/young people with a learning disability that live in the Winchester and district area, ie. Pay council tax to Winchester City. Also run a Thumbs Up Youth Club and Saturday Club.

Southampton Mencap Junior Gateway

For children aged 5-16; with a wide range of learning disabilities, living in Southampton. The club is held on Saturday mornings from 10am to noon during school terms. A wide range of play and creative activities are available. This club is OFSTED registered.

Southampton Mencap ARTS4ALL

A project to enable young people aged 11-16 with a range of learning disabilities to access a range of creative opportunities within a supported environment. Six, five week courses a year. Thursdays 4pm - 5.30pm.

Southampton Mencap Teen Scheme

For young people aged 13 to 19 with a wide range of learning disabilities living in Southampton. Held during weeks three and four of the summer holidays from 10am to 3.30pm. The scheme encourages the young people to make choices of activities to participate in, both on-site and off-site.

Southampton Childrens Play Association (SCPA)

SCPA develops, supports and delivers “Open Access” Junior clubs and summer playschemes for all children over 5 years. (Not care schemes). Under 5’s are welcome but must be accompanied by a parent or adult over 18 years. The play opportunities available include arts and crafts, messy play, sports, games, role play, music and multi-cultural activities. Junior clubs open during term time at various locations across Southampton between the hours of 3.30pm and 5pm. Summer playschemes run for five weeks through July and August, session times are 10am - 12pm and 1pm to 3pm.

YMCA Fairthorne Manor

Every school holiday, daycamp activities are offered for children aged from 4 - 16 years including kayaking, climbing, assualt course, archery, bouncy castles, aerial runway and sports.

The Children’s Support team is avaialble to offer support to children attending who have additional support needs and may require assistance to participate fully. Advance booking required.
